Long Weekend in NOLA: Crawfish, Cocktails, and Catching up with Friends

Last weekend, I took a long weekend vacation with some friends to New Orleans. We were excited to visit our friends who had moved to the city a year ago and finally see their new house. When we arrived, they showed us around their beautiful new home, and we spent some time catching up on old times. They even taught us how to eat crawfish, which was a fun and unique experience. We loved the flavor and how interactive it was to break open the shells to get to the delicious meat inside.

On the second day, we woke up to a rainy Saturday morning, but that didn't dampen our spirits. We started our day with brunch and drinks (Bloody Marys) at Brennan's, a classic New Orleans institution. After brunch, we set out to explore the city, taking in the sights and sounds of Bourbon Street. We visited a few bars and tried some local beers and cocktails along the way. Despite the rain, the atmosphere was lively, and the energy of the city was contagious.

In the evening, we headed to Saba, a popular Middle Eastern restaurant, for dinner. The food was delicious, and we enjoyed sharing small plates and trying new dishes. It was the perfect end to a fun and eventful day in the city. Overall, it was a great long weekend vacation spent with good friends in a new and exciting place. We made some wonderful memories, tried some new things, and can't wait to plan our next adventure together.

Also, a special thanks to my cousin who generously agreed to come stay with Liam while we were away. Knowing Liam was in good hands allowed us to relax and enjoy our weekend even more. Liam had a blast with his cousin, too, and we're grateful for the extra time they got to spend together.
